There is no sustainability without innovation

Christian Ehl, the Global Practice Leader of ESG at Stanton Chase, met with Dr. Dieter Vollkommer, the VP of Sustainability at Siemens Energy, to discuss the role of large corporations such as Siemens Energy in driving the sustainability agenda. “Sustainability and innovation are two sides of the same coin. There will be no sustainability without innovation to meet the customer demands of tomorrow,” said Dr. Vollkommer. He believes that Siemens’ sustainability program plays a key role in employee engagement, retaining today’s talent, and winning tomorrow’s talent.

“With worldwide demand for electricity expected to increase by around 25% before 2030, the sustainability of the energy sector is a matter of urgency,” Dr. Vollkommer said.
